Riverview’s Usher Ministry is undergirded by scripture found in Psalms 84:10 – "For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.  I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

 

     Our purpose of ushering in church is not to serve people, but to serve God.  We are dedicated to serving God by maintaining an atmosphere of reverence and order before, during and after a worship service. For God, it’s our goal to ensure an atmosphere of reverence and order is maintained before, during, and after the service.  For God, we usher worshippers to their seats.  For God, we gather offerings.  For God, we ready the

sanctuary at the end of every service.  For what we do, we do not "as unto men, but unto God."

 

     We recognize ushers are often the first voice and the first interaction visitors experience at our church.  For that reason, we gladly embrace the responsibility for bringing comfort,

compassion and the spirit of God’s blessings to all who enter the church doors.  Our overall mission is to be of service to the church family when needed in order to further the Lord’s message of loving one another even as God has loved us.
